Fifteen people selected to advisory committee for JWCC presidential selection search
QUINCY — Fifteen people have been identified to serve on the presidential selection advisory committee at John Wood Community College.
President Michael Elbe announced March 2 he will be retiring Dec. 31, 2022. To assist the Board of Trustees with the search for Elbe’s replacement, JWCC has engaged the Pauly Group, Inc., a national search consulting firm that assists in the recruitment and hiring of community college executives.
Named to the committee were:
JWCC board, staff and faculty
- Board of Trustees members Bob Rhea and Randy Greenwell
- Exempt: Diane Vose, manager of JWCC Regional Centers
- Non-Exempt: Seth Brammer, administrator applications
- Brenda Graff, co-chair of mathematics department
- Chris Kaelke, chair of natural sciences and engineering department, president of faculty senate
- Leadership Council: Josh Welker, dean of business services, institutional effectiveness
- Dave Rakers, president of JWCC Foundation, president of First Bankers Trust West Region
- Catharine Miller, student government president for 2022-23
Community representatives
- Debbie Reed, president/CEO, Chaddock
- Jenna Morrow, executive director, Pike-Scott Farm Bureau
- Chaka Batley, mental health nurse practitioner, Clarity Healthcare
- Todd Fox, superintendent of the Southeastern School District
- Jim Rubottom, vice president of human resources, Knapheide Manufacturing
- Lydia Miller, senior director of benefits and compensation, Dot Foods, Inc.
After open forums were conducted in late May and early June, a position profile was developed. Recruiting has begun, with an email announcement going out June 29 from Pauly Group. A presidential search website has been developed. It provides information to prospective applicants and members of the JWCC community.
The first search committee meeting will be scheduled in early August. The Board of Trustees have selected dates in October when final presidential candidates will be at John Wood Community College. The selected candidate will begin in January 2023.
