First Bankers Trust Company, N.A., adds loan production office in St. Charles, Mo.

QUINCY — First Bankers Trust Company, N.A., is adding loan production office in St. Charles, Mo.

The St. Charles office serves as the 12th location for First Bankers, which also has nine physical bank branches, an operations center and another LPO — all in Illinois. This will be First Bankers’ first location in Missouri.

In a press release, Allen Shafer, president and CEO of First Bankers, said “We are extremely proud to be expanding our business into the St. Charles market. We are mindful to the current economic climate and feel this is a significant step in our company’s growth that reinforces our strength, stability and commitment to our customers and our shareholders.”

“This new expansion into St. Charles gives us our second office presence in the greater St. Louis area, which has welcomed us with open arms. We are thrilled to continue to grow in this market and provide quality banking services to these customers,” West Region President Dave Rakers said.

Clay Shackelford will serve as the St. Charles market president. He joins First Bankers with more than 20 years of prior banking experience. Shackelford has been heavily involved in the St. Louis and St. Charles communities during his career. He serves on a variety of organizational boards focusing on the enhancement of these communities. He attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles and has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Lincoln University.
