First Baptist Church to hold Juneteenth ‘Still We Rise’ events on June 18, 24 and 26
QUINCY — First Baptist Church will offer a trifecta Juneteenth celebration — a Juneteenth festival, a Still We Rise gala and a Still We Rise concert — at various locations throughout Quincy in June.
The festival will be held behind the Jackson-Lincoln pool from 4-8 p.m. Saturday, June 18. This event is free to attend. Food vendors will be on site.
A black tie event, the Still We Rise gala, will be be held from 5-10 p.m. Friday, June 24, at Town and Country Inn and Suites, 110 N. 54th. Ticket price is $50 per person and can be purchased by contacting the FBC office at 217-223-4468; by emailing Lena Jones at jlena7319@gmail.com; or through Eventbrite. Musical entertainment will be provided by The Voices.
The celebration will conclude with the Still We Rise concert at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, June 26 at First Baptist Church, Eighth and Elm. The voices of the Juneteenth community choir and the Ebony Voices Ensemble will perform. The concert is free.
