Floral designer to present at Tri-State Area Center for Women’s Ministries Second Tuesday program on June 14

QUINCY — Tri-State Area Center for Women’s Ministries Second Tuesday of the Month program for June 14 will feature floral designer Tami Lyons.

Lyons has loved flowers since she helped her grandma work in the flower beds as a little girl. A basic design class in college furthered her desire to create and share the fragrance and colors that flowers offer.

Lyons has been creating floral designs professionally for 32 years in Hannibal and Quincy. She enjoys growing flowers as part of her annual garden. She shares bouquets with neighbors who enjoy the fresh, colorful treat.

To gain more knowledge and skills, she has pursued design classes, attended conventions and entered designs in several competitions. Lyons completed a multi-phase process of accreditation in 2001. She was inducted into the American Institute of Floral Design and certified as an AIFD evaluator/judge in 2014.

Throughout her career, Lyons has shared her delight of flowers with grade school students, horticulture students and other classes. She gives them the opportunity to experience flowers first-hand and to experience creatively designing for fun.

Lyons will present from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 14 at the CWM facility, 522 S. Eighth. Reservations are suggested. Seating is limited.

Cup of Grace is offered from 10 a.m. to noon and 6-7:30 p.m. Interested parties are encouraged to stop by for a cup of coffee and fellowship.
