QUINCY — The first United Hearts Family Fest, presented by the Good Samaritan Home Foundation, will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 9, at Trinity United Church of Christ, 2020 S. 24th.

This church picnic-style fundraising event will have including two live bands (Hearsay Band and The Silver Bullets), several local food and beverage trucks (8te Open, Lickins’ BBQ, Angel Shack, Dottie’s Funnel Cakes, and a beer and wine tent courtesy of Haubrich Enterprises), games, bingo, quarter auctions and a giant kid zone featuring bounce houses, obstacle courses, make and take crafts and The Range Line Express mini train. A pop-up GSHQ General Store will have goods available for purchase.

In a press release, Michelle Kasparie, director of development at GSHQ, said, “We are thrilled to host this event for our GSHQ family and community. Since our founding, we have been affiliated with the United Church of Christ and joined together in our mission of superior Christian service in a charitable community. As a part of UCC, Trinity Church, just around the corner from our campuses, is a perfect setting for this event as well as providing the inspiration for our event name: United Hearts Family Fest.”

The fundraiser will benefit The Good Samaritan Home Foundation, which financially supports Good Samaritan Home of Quincy.

Good Samaritan Home is an award-winning non-profit Continuing Care Retirement Community serving West Central Illinois and the surrounding area since 1957. They offer independent and assisted living, occupational and restorative therapy, skilled nursing care and a state licensed memory care unit.

The event is free and open to the public. Tickets to be used for all attractions and concessions will be sold at the event. They can be pre-purchased at a discounted rate at https://givebutter.com/BLFWR9.
