QUINCY — Grace and June’s Lemon-Aid Stand for Good, with the help of 19 other stands, raised a record $12,023 on Saturday, Sept. 2.

Grace Hendrian asked her mom, Kellea, in 2019 if she could have a lemonade stand with the intent to donate all the proceeds to a local charity. Kellea instructed her to consider what organization for which she’d like to raise money. Intending to raise $100 for the Quincy Salvation Army, Grace surpassed her goal by $900.

June joined her sister in 2021 in fundraising for The Salvation Army. The girls raised $2,320, surpassing their goal of $1,250.

Grace and June continued their tradition of lending a hand up to those in need by inviting the community to join them in 2022 in hosting lemon-aid stands across The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command service area. The sisters recruited 19 other stands in 2023.

People interested in having a fundraiser for The Salvation Army should contact Chad Douglas at 217-231-5647 or chad.douglas@usc.salvationarmy.org.
