Illinois State Police announces results of special patrols in November
PITTSFIELD, Ill. — Illinois State Police District 20 Commander Captain Jody Huffman recently announced the results of five special traffic enforcement patrols (sTEP) in Pike and Adams counties during November and two occupant restraint enforcement patrols (OREP) in Adams County on Nov. 25 and Nov. 28.
The sTEPs allowed the ISP to provide increased enforcement for impaired driving, occupant restraint, speeding and distracted driving violations during the National “Click It or Ticket” Campaign. The OREPs provided extra patrol coverage for the ISP so officers could focus on saving lives by making sure all vehicle occupants were buckled up.
Both projects were funded through the Illinois Department of Transportation.
