JWCC truck driver program open house set for June 13

QUINCY — The truck driver training program at John Wood Community College will host an open house at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 13 in the Workforce Development Center, 4220 Koch’s Lane. The event is free and open to the public.

Representatives will share how the program has revised its training in response to the new federal regulations regarding obtaining a CDL. Admission requirements, scholarships/funding options and career opportunities in the trucking industry will be discussed.

Attendees will learn about a 16-credit hour, financial-aid eligible, logistics/truck driver training certificate. Students in the program will be actively recruited by numerous trucking companies, representing both local and national firms. Some employers may fund tuition costs.
