League of Women Voters of Adams County to honor Safe and Livable Housing Committee on May 7

QUINCY — The League of Women Voters of Adams County will honor the Safe and Livable Housing Committee at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7, at the Lorenzo Bull House, 1550 Maine.

Representatives from the Safe and Livable Housing Committee will receive the Evelyn Sacadat Community Service Award. Sacadat, a 50-year member of the LWV, was known for her activism in Quincy and Adams County.

After the award is presented, Padraic Rohan, assistant professor of history at Quincy University, will speak on The Concept of the Common Good.

The LWV of Adams County is active in studying and taking action on local issues including those that affect local schools, county government, the environment and city government. The LWV of Adams County is a non-partisan group that encourages voter education.
