‘Men Making a Difference’ to be host of community BBQ on Saturday at Bella Ease
QUINCY — A group of local residents formed Men Making a Difference, an initiative that aims to empower male youths in underrepresented communities through mentoring and leadership training, in June.
MMAD will be the host of a Community Give Back BBQ with food, music and fun from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Bella Ease, 707 Broadway. The event, free and open to the public, is designed to spread the word about the organization,
The initiative was the brainchild of Dennis Williams with Bella Ease/Teen Reach. He assembled a team of community activists from various arenas of expertise to breathe life into this group. The goal of MMAD is to engage teens in meaningful dialogue about their culture, making good decisions and teaching them to be civic leaders of tomorrow. Topics and goals to be addressed in their meetings include conflict resolution, how to address bullying and important qualities of manhood.
