QUINCY – Quincy Medical Group and the Cathedral of Worship are sponsoring “Man Up” from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at Bob Mays Park.

This event is free to men and offers an afternoon of activities, including axe throwing, plank and battle rope competitions, archery and more. QMG will offer blood pressure checks, heart checks, glucose testing, foot evaluations and BMI assessments. COVID-19 vaccines also will be available. A nutritional snack bar will provide a variety of healthy options to keep visitors nourished throughout the afternoon.

“This past year has taken a toll on all of us, and it’s important we take the time to prioritize our health,” QMG Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rick Noble said. “Man Up gives men an opportunity to gather outdoors and check in with each other and our health while also enjoying an afternoon of fun.”

“We’re taking charge of ourselves, our homes and our communities,” said Nave Wilson, chief operating officer with Cathedral of Worship. “This event provides a time for us to start a journey that’s sure to be life changing. Let’s all begin to make a difference.”

Participants can sign up for giveaways and an opportunity to be put into a drawing to win a Pit Boss grill.
