QUINCY — The Quincy Public Schools Foundation ended its 2021 Dream Big Annual Campaign by raising a record-breaking $310,551, surpassing the goal by $100,000.

“We are incredibly grateful to be supported by so many past and present community members and QHS alumni,” Executive Director Kent Embree said. “We were blown away by their generosity this year, especially considering that much of our fundraising was virtual rather than through our in-person gala.”

“The QPS Foundation usually hosts an annual ‘A Night to Dream Big’ gala and auction as the focal point of the annual campaign, but in the interest of public health and COVID concerns, we elected to promote our campaign through a “Week to Dream Big” campaign blitz and virtual auction,” Embree stated. “We are really appreciative of the sponsors in the Quincy community, who supported the auction and all our efforts to improve public education.”

Proceeds from this year’s campaign will be allocated to the five “pillars” of the Foundation: curriculum, technology, fine arts, athletics and endowment, operations of the Foundation, and special projects within the district.

A portion of the money donated will also benefit new and existing Circles of Investment, per each donor’s wishes.

The mission of the Quincy Public Schools Foundation is to acquire and distribute financial and other resources for the enrichment of academic programs and other projects aimed at fulfilling the mission of the Quincy Public School
District.

Each year the Foundation makes grants to teachers, schools and the district administration in fulfillment of their mission. In the last fiscal year, the Foundation provided over $364,000 of support to the Quincy Public Schools.
