QUINCY – Quincy University has rescheduled its fourth annual QU Alumni Day for Tuesday, March 1 in remembrance of the university’s first day of classes on Feb. 6, 1860. QU alumni are encouraged to wear a QU Alumni button and QU gear to work and attend the day’s events.

“Alumni day has become a tradition at QU, and we wanted to make sure we were still able to celebrate this year despite the weather,” said Matt Bergman, senior director of advancement. “With 14,000 plus QU alumni living in all 50 states and 30 foreign countries, our graduates have a huge impact not only in our region but around the world.”

“I invite all QU alumni, no matter where you live, to wear a ‘QU Alumni’ button and take a picture of yourself to share on social media using #qualumniday,” said Amanda Summers, coordinator of alumni services. “I encourage all QU alumni in the Quincy region to join us for the day’s events as we celebrate their successes as graduates.”

Alumni are invited to join for lunch, courtesy of alumnus Luis Barnes, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the QU Cafeteria, 18th & Lind.

Alumni also are encouraged to attend “Hawk’s Hangout” in the Hawk’s Nest, 18th and Lind, and enjoy appetizers, desserts and a cash bar from 4:30-8 p.m. Two virtual alumni college sessions will be available on the website at https://www.quincy.edu/alumni-day/.  Alumni who attend any event will receive a 2022 Alumni Day t-shirt.
