QUINCY — The Quincy University Retired Faculty-Staff Association recently elected officers and executive committee members for 2022-23 at its annual meeting.

Officers are Kevin Steinkamp, president; Mary Ann Klein, secretary; and Pat Laytham, treasurer.  Members at large are Joanne Ortwerth, Joe Messina, Jean Green and Bill Postiglione. Father Joe Zimmerman is the immediate past president, Paul Brown is the factotum and Matt Bergman is the university liaison.

The association meets quarterly for lunch. Members of university senior management update retirees on significant university happenings. They also have an annual Christmas party where student music groups entertain. Members go on educational bus trips and participate in the annual Quincy Public Library “Big Read” program.

The association assists various university entities such as the Mart Heinen Athletic Booster Club and Brenner Library, as well as activities such as homecoming and graduation. The association also established the Retired Faculty-Staff Endowed Scholarship in 2010.

QU’s Retired Faculty-Staff Association is open to all retired persons, lay and Franciscan, who have been full-time or part-time employees of Quincy University and their spouses. For more information, contact Brown at 217-617-5460 or paulbrown2003@comcast.net.
