QUINCY — Retired math teacher Sheila Eyster is teaming up with The Kroc Center to offer two six-week math workshops for less than $9 per meeting.

A multiplication tables workshop will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 7-April 11. In this workshop, students and their guardians attending the class will learn tips and tricks for mastering their multiplication tables. This workshop is for students age 8 and older. The registration deadline is March 6.

A word problems workshop will be taught from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursdays, March 9-April 13. Word problems can be one the most difficult concepts for a student to master. A parent or other interested adult must attend with the child to learn and practice Eyster’s special techniques. This workshop is for students age 8 and older. The registration deadline is March 8.

“Math classes can be an intimidating place for students as well as for the parents who have to help them with homework,” arts and education specialist Jonathon Weller said in a press release. “We’re so thrilled to offer these classes once again. Sheila does a great job breaking down these complicated problems into something more manageable. We’ve kept the price of this class as low as possible, because we don’t want money to be a barrier in the way of learning.”
