QUINCY — Red kettles and bells will soon return as The Salvation Army Quincy Area Command begins its first days of fundraising for the 2022 Christmas campaign in Quincy on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 11-12.

Kettles will resume full-time for the season on Nov. 18 in Quincy and Nov. 19 for Hannibal, continuing through Dec. 24. There will be no bell ringing at kettles on Mondays and Tuesdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas week.

Volunteers are needed to be Salvation Army bell ringers. Volunteers can register for a two-hour shift or adopt-a-kettle for an entire day. Those interested are encouraged to register online at RegisterToRing.com or by contacting Tina Lewis at 217-231-5626 or tina.lewis@usc.salvationarmy.org.

Funds raised from the red kettles remain local to support The Salvation Army, holiday meals and toys, shelter for the homeless, job assistance and more.

The Salvation Army provides various programs and services in the counties of Adams, Brown and Pike in Illinois and the counties of Marion, Ralls, Lewis, Monroe and Shelby in Missouri.

For more information, contact Lewis at 217-231-5626.
