St. Peter School to celebrate first anniversary of Wilhelm Johnson Scholz STEM Lab on Thursday

QUINCY — St. Peter School, 2500 Maine, will be the host of a first birthday bash for the Wilhelm Johnson Scholz STEM Lab to celebrate its first year in introducing more than 300 students to science, technology, engineering and mathematics in the school STEM lab.

The celebration will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15. St. Peter families and friends of the STEM are invited to attend.

This lab was designed and developed to foster an excitement and love for science, technology, engineering and mathematics for students from kindergarten through eighth grade.

The event will start with a 20-minute ceremony to thank everyone who helped make the first year of the STEM lab a success. Families and friends will then participate in the Sky Dome, an indoor planetarium from St. Louis Science, an archery range, VR googles, STEM space challenge stations, robot obstacle courses and see “Ziggy” the STEM mascot, who traveled the world to discover how STEM is used.
