The District to be host of ‘Fri-Yay! Shop Hop’ event on Sept. 16
QUINCY — The District is the host of “Fri-Yay! Shop Hop,” a shop local event from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 16, in downtown Quincy.
Several businesses have committed to staying open later than normal to cater to the shopping crowd.
Shoppers are invited to check out the latest merchandise and can hop between Domestics, Etc., 644 Maine, Love It Or Leave It, Loyd’s Gifts and Collectibles and Shaker Hill. People also can register at each place to be entered into a prize giveaway.
In a press release, Emily Lombardi, director of economic development for The District, said, “Fri-Yay! Shop Hop events have been a staple of The District’s programming for the last few years. We are very glad to be able to continue this fun and unique shopping experience for our businesses and visitors.”
Businesses staying open later will donate an item to a gift basket. Visitors can enter the drawing via raffle ticket at each store and increase their chances of winning by visiting multiple participating businesses.
“It is a busy back to school time. We hope this unique Friday night experience can give consumers an outlet to unwind and explore downtown shopping,” Lombardi said.
