Vehicles headed west on Hampshire now must stop at 11th Street

QUINCY — The City of Quincy is advising motorists that vehicles traveling west on Hampshire Street now must stop at North 11th Street. Before installation of the signage, vehicles traveling on Hampshire Street did not stop for traffic.

The signage was approved April 10 by the Quincy City Council at the request of Quincy Medical Group to improve pedestrian safety. Patrons and employees of Quincy Medical Group are asked utilize the crosswalks at 11th and Hampshire when crossing Hampshire. Mid-block crossing is discouraged.
