Sylvie Dedert honored with ‘Be Like Grace’ award at Adams County Fair
MENDON, Ill. — The Adams County Fair recently recognized a local girl with a special award on July 26 during the Little Miss and Mister Pageant.
The 2023 “Be Like Grace” award was given to 5 year-old Sylvie Dedert. She is the daughter of Scott and Dena Dedert of Ursa.
Sylvie will attend kindergarten at Unity Elementary School this fall. She participates with the Great River Ski Team and likes swimming, boating with her family and playing with her friends.
The “Be Like Grace” Award was established to remember and honor Grace Schell, who was the 2011 Little Miss Adams County Fair winner. Shell died in a tragic ATV accident in 2020. The award recognizes a special contestant who shows kindness to other children or contestants around her.
