Two arrested in Camp Point following armed incident
CAMP POINT, Ill. — On Sunday night at 6:17, Adams County deputies were called to an address in Camp Point on a report of someone with a gun.
After speaking with several people, deputies learned that two men, Stephen D. Calhoun, 20, of Camp Point, and Shaun L. Smith, 20, of Clayton, were involved in a disturbance with some Camp Point residents.
During the disturbance, Calhoun and Smith brandished a gun while trying to enter a resident’s home, then eventually fled the area. After an on-scene investigation, deputies located Calhoun and Smith at 314 S. Kentucky in Camp Point. Both men were taken into custody without incident. It is believed the victims and the suspects all knew each other.
Both Calhoun and Smith were lodged in the Adams County Jail on the following charges:
Armed Violence, Home Invasion, |
Mob Action, Aggravated Assault, |
Unlawful use of weapon and Battery |
