Applications being accepted for Blessing EMS education program
QUINCY — Applications are now being accepted for Blessing Hospital’s nationally certified paramedic education program. Those interested should contact Derek Wells, EMS Education Coordinator, at 217-223-8400, extension 6591.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates are prepared to take the National Registry Examination for Paramedics, the first step toward licensure.
Blessing Hospital’s paramedic education program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education programs (www.caahep.org). Paramedic students applying to take the National Registry Examination for Paramedics must be graduates of a CAAHEP accredited program. The program is recognized and approved by the Illinois Department of Public Health, meets all requirements of the National EMS Education Standard and is affiliated with John Wood Community College. Students earn college credit toward a certificate or an associate degree.
The 14-month program begins Aug. 5 and will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
