Applications being accepted for Chamber of Commerce nine-month Leadership Institute

Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce

QUINCY — The Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce (QACC) is accepting applications for the third year of its Leadership Institute, a program designed to educate and inspire emerging leaders to actively engage in the Quincy and Adams County community. Focused on cultivating leadership skills and community awareness, the Leadership Institute empowers participants to make a lasting, positive impact on the region.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors, participants of the nine-month Leadership Institute will enjoy personal and professional growth. Through a comprehensive curriculum, interactive community, business tours and engaging leadership discussions, participants will gain valuable insights into local issues and strengthen their leadership capabilities.

“With this third class of the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership Institute, we have already provided a platform for more than 40 emerging leaders to grow their skills and expand their networks,” Bruce Guthrie, president/CEO of the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce, said in a press release. “This program immerses participants in the heart of our community, increasing their understanding of local businesses and the critical issues we face.”

A key component of the institute is the class project, which allows participants to apply their skills, knowledge and connections in a hands-on initiative that benefits the community. This experience encourages collaboration, creativity and civic responsibility while creating a tangible impact in Quincy and Adams County.

By equipping emerging leaders with a well-rounded understanding of local systems, fostering relationships with community leaders and enhancing personal development, the program helps build a strong pipeline of future leaders. Local businesses benefit from employees who return to the workplace with expanded knowledge, increased confidence and stronger leadership potential.

The Leadership Institute’s monthly sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., typically on the second Tuesday of each month, beginning Sept. 9, and concluding May 12, 2026. To ensure inclusive access and broad participation, tuition scholarships are available for nonprofit organizations, government employees and small businesses.
