Area businesses to ‘paint the town purple on Saturday for Alzheimer’s Association
QUINCY — The Alzheimer’s Association is painting Quincy, Jacksonville and Macomb purple the weekend of July 20.
This is awareness event will have participating organizations distributing information about the Alzheimer’s Association’s free services that support people dealing with all types of dementia and their loved ones.
Participating businesses are also showing their support by “painting” their establishment purple (the color associated with the Alzheimer’s Association) which could include having staff wear purple, putting up purple lights or anything that will draw attention to the work of the association.
Organizations participating in Quincy are Harrison Monuments (July 19), Quincy Senior and Family Resource Center, Relax Quincy Spas and Saunas, Schuecking’s, The Bump Shop Autobody, Blessing Health System, Golden Bridges (July 19), Platt Daddy BBQ and The District via Farmers Market.
Harrison Monuments will participate by doing fundraising for the walk on that day.
