Baker named chief human resources officer at JWCC
QUINCY — Amy Baker is the new chief human resources officer at John Wood Community College.
Baker has 20 years of experience in the field of human resources. She previously served as executive director of human resources at Culver-Stockton College in Canton, Mo. Prior to that role, Baker was the human resources director for Sunset Home in Quincy and human resources director for Heartland Health Care Center in Macomb. Baker also held the position of human resource specialist at Mosaic in Macomb as well.
“We are delighted to welcome aboard our new chief human resources officer, whose vibrant energy, seasoned background in higher education, and proactive approach ensure she’s poised to hit the ground running,” JWCC president Bryan Renfro said in a press release. “Her wealth of experience and enthusiasm will undoubtedly elevate our institution’s HR initiatives to new heights.”
Baker also is a part of several national and statewide committees such as the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources, the Society for Human Resource Management and the International Honor Society for Business. She holds a master of business administration from Culver-Stockton College and a bachelor of arts and sciences from Western Illinois University.
