QUINCY — Better Business Bureau (BBB) Quincy is honoring three businesses with TORCH Awards for Ethics in 2023.

BBB TORCH Awards recognize organizations committed to exceptional standards for ethical business practices and service to their customers, employees, suppliers and communities.

In a press release, Don O’Brien, BBB Quincy regional director, said, “We’re excited to honor these organizations who have gone above and beyond in their commitment to ethics. They set a strong example for their peers and are helping make our community a better place to live and do business.”

Three companies are being recognized in 2023:

Known as America’s first arts council, Arts Quincy supports 55 arts, cultural and educational nonprofits with programming, leadership and efforts to increase nonprofit transparency and reach underserved parts of the community.

“Today’s donors are very savvy and want to make sure that every single dollar they contribute to a local nonprofit is making the biggest impact that it can,” Executive Director Laura Sievert said. “Having a Better Business Bureau accreditation lets our donors know at a glance that our ethical standards in both governance and fiscal accountability have been independently verified and that they can be confident that their contribution will be making a difference and expanding arts access right here where they live.”

For over 40 years, Craig Industries Inc. has manufactured high-quality insulated building panels for uses such as walk-in coolers, wine storage, modular buildings and climate-controlled growing environments.

“The TORCH Award represents acknowledgement of the hard work that our team does every day to work with our customers and meet their needs,” said Luke Craig, vice president of sales/marketing.

Schmitt Happens Masonry provides high quality masonry services, including tuckpointing, restoration, chimneys and basements, for an affordable rate.

“What the TORCH Award means for me is the time and effort put in with my clients, and the honesty I try to present. The dedication and long hours have paid off. We silently do a lot of things, so being recognized is definitely exciting,” Owner Levi Schmitt said.
