CARTHAGE, Ill. — Memorial Hospital Foundation recently announced an anonymous benefactor has committed to match all donations up to $25,000 from October 2023 through February 2024.

This pledge comes as the foundation inches closer to its ambitious fundraising goal of $2 million. Since its establishment in 2015, the foundation has successfully raised more than $1.93 million, channeling 100 percent of these funds toward initiatives that enhance the well-being of communities and quality local healthcare. All funds raised directly support and fulfill the foundation’s mission, enhancing the health and wellness of our communities through charitable giving.

Presently, the foundation is actively fundraising for its Grow Our Own scholarship campaign and Memorial Hospital’s Endowment Fund. The Grow Our Own fund empowers staff members to achieve their personal and professional aspirations through scholarship opportunities. The Endowment Fund serves as a financial reservoir ensuring the longevity of quality local healthcare for future generations.

Donors participating in this ongoing holiday match drive have the option to direct their contributions to either the endowment fund or the scholarship fund, aligning with their preferences. To contribute to the current holiday match opportunity, donations can be sent to Memorial Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 160, Carthage, IL 62321.

For further information about the foundation, contact Greta Wetzel, executive director of the Memorial Hospital Foundation, at gwetzel@mhtlc.org.
