Bids for Kids online auction under way through Sunday to raise funds to help local youths

Bids for Kids

QUINCY — The 29th annual Bids for Kids charity online auction, hosted by Quincy Noon Kiwanis, kicked off Thursday and runs through 7 p.m. on Sunday, March 23. Participants can register for free at bidsforkids.auction and start bidding within minutes after a quick email verification.

The auction features more than 350 unique items generously donated by local people and businesses. Items include dining, retail, spa, fitness, sports, home, lawn, automotive, family fun, experiences and much more.

In a press release, Noon Kiwanis president Chris Wiemelt, said, “As a Kiwanian, one of the best days of the year is when we get to hand out grant checks to the local organizations that serve our kids.”

All proceeds from the auction directly benefit Adams County youths. Funds are distributed as grants to local organizations that serve children or used for one-on-one activities that directly engage kids in the Quincy-area community. Bids for Kids raised more than $50,000 in 2024.

Grant applications must be submitted by Wednesday, April 30, to be considered. They can be downloaded at kiwanisofquincy.org/grants.

Bids for Kids co-chair Joe Bordewick emphasized the power of community generosity.

“I encourage the hundreds of bidders visiting the site this weekend to recognize that each of these incredibly generous sponsors and donors contributed to Bids for Kids because they truly want to support our local children,” he said. “That’s amazing, and we’re extremely grateful.”
