Blessing Health accepting registrations for free cholesterol screening Nov. 16

QUINCY —Registrations are being taken for Blessing Health’s next no-cost cholesterol screening from 7 to 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, at the Blessing Resource Center, 420 N. 34th.

A 12-hour fast before the test is required, as is an appointment. Visit events.blessinghealth.org and search “cholesterol,” call 217-277-5000 or stop by the Blessing Resource Center to register.

The test will measure levels of the following in the blood:

• LDL, sometimes called “bad” cholesterol
• HDL, sometimes called “good” cholesterol
• total cholesterol
• triglycerides (fat)
• blood glucose (sugar)

The results of a cholesterol test are part of the information needed to determine a person’s current heart health and future risk for heart disease.
