Blessing Health System risk management director co-authors book chapter

QUINCY — Carolyn Bailey, director of risk management with Blessing Health System, co-authored a chapter in a recently published book titled, “Enterprise Risk Management for Health Care, Fourth Edition.”

The chapter to which Bailey contributed, which falls under the Strategic Risk section of the book, is titled, “Risks Related to Emerging Health Care Delivery Models.”

The book was published by the American Health Law Association and the American Society for Health Care Risk Management (ASHRM). The book is a resource for healthcare-related organizations to assist them with their enterprise risk management program or their journey to developing an enterprise risk approach to managing the many challenging risks that are present in today’s complex world.

An employee of Blessing Health System since 2008, Bailey is responsible for leading the risk management department and related activities across the health system, focusing on enterprise risk management, loss prevention and control, safety matters, claims, corporate insurance, business continuity, patient rights and complaints and grievances.

Bailey serves on the ASHRM advisory board and is a member of its Enterprise Risk Management taskforce and faculty on a volunteer basis. She also currently serves as president of the Illinois Society of Healthcare Risk Management, is a member of the Chicagoland Healthcare Risk Management Society, Risk and Insurance Management Society, St. Louis Chapter of RIMS and the Quincy Safety Council. Bailey is a certified professional healthcare risk manager and certified healthcare safety professional.
