Blue Christmas service offered Dec. 19-21 in Bowen to help people struggling during holidays
BOWEN, Ill. — Living Faith United Methodist Church, 106 E. First, will hold Blue Christmas worship services from 1 to 9 p.m. each day Dec. 19-21.
Blue Christmas services can help people who struggle through the holiday season. An individual might be grieving the loss of a loved one, struggling with illness, unable to be with family, hurting from a broken relationship, overcome with worry or maybe just wanting an opportunity to seek God.
Blue Christmas is a gentle, contemplative, hands-on worship experience for people struggling during the season of celebration. Expressions of grief, sadness, loneliness, uncertainty and anger are all welcomed as a means of faithful dialogue with God. People can progress at their own pace from station to station, with each station having a kid-friendly option.
