MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — The Tracy Family Foundation, Mount Sterling Community Center YMCA and Action Brown County will be the hosts of the third annual Brown County Comedy Night on Sunday, Sept. 17.

This year’s show will feature the “Jeff Allen: Are We There Yet?” tour. Allen’s rapid-fire humor centers on marriage and family.

The show will be held in the Brown County High School auditorium and is appropriate for ages 12 and older. Doors will open at 6 p.m. with the show running from 6:30 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. Seating will be first come, first served. Free childcare will be provided by the Mount Sterling Community Center YMCA for children preschool through fourth grade from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Discounted tickets and childcare registration are available at the YMCA Welcome Desk. People planning to use the Y’s childcare must be registered by Monday, Sept 11.

Allen has appeared on Dry Bar Comedy, America’s Got Talent, Netflix, Amazon, Huckabee, Pure Flix, Showtime, Comedy Central and VH1. He starred in the critically acclaimed film “Apostles of Comedy,” the syndicated comedy series “Bananas,” his own one-hour comedy special “Happy Wife, Happy Life,” and the Warner Bros. comedy film “Thou Shalt Laugh.”

Allen has been featured at Montreal’s Just For Laughs festival and HBO’s Comedy Arts Festival. His Dry Bar Comedy videos have amassed more than 400 million views on social media and other platforms.

The first part of his “Are We There Yet?” show features Allen’s standup comedy, which has garnered hundreds of millions of fans around the globe. The second part is based on his book, “Are We There Yet?” It tears down all walls and shows Allen’s journey from very dark times, to recovery, restoration and ultimately redemption. His ultimate goal? In his words, Allen says his ultimate goal is “To make a difference that outlives the tour … that outlives me.”

In a press release, Dan Teefey, executive director of the Tracy Family Foundation, said, “Every time we conduct a Brown County community survey, participants express that they wish there were more family-friendly entertainment opportunities in Brown County. We hope that bringing a nationally-known comedian to Brown County will help to meet this need and provide a wonderful evening of laughs.”
