MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — The Blessing Mount Sterling Clinic has been accredited as a Certified Rural Health Clinic and granted Exemplary Provider status by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services partner organization, The Compliance Team, a federally-authorized national healthcare accreditation organization for rural clinics.

Clinics must be in rural, underserved areas to receive Certified Rural Health Clinic status. They are required to use a team approach of physicians working with non-physician providers such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants to provide services. They also are required to provide outpatient primary care services and basic laboratory services.

Exemplary Provider-accredited status is granted only to those healthcare providers who demonstrate outstanding patient care practices and compliance to comprehensive quality standards as verified and validated by The Compliance Team.

“While the Blessing Mount Sterling Clinic opened only a short time ago in November 2021, its use of tried and true processes have proven successful in our other nine rural health clinics, to deliver quality care on a consistent basis,” Gina Genenbacher, director of rural health with Blessing Physician Services, said in a press release.

“Couple that fact with the skilled and dedicated team delivering care at the Blessing Mount Sterling Clinic, and the result is national accreditation with Exemplary Provider status — something the residents of Brown County and surrounding communities deserve from their healthcare provider.”

The Blessing Mount Sterling Clinic, 521 East Main, is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The clinic phone number is 217-773-7105. New patients are being accepted.

Care is delivered by Mt. Sterling resident family medicine nurse Dawn Koch under the direction of Dr. Terin Blanchard. The Mount Sterling Clinic provides onsite laboratory and radiology services.  Mount Sterling resident Jenny Ebbing is the clinic office manager.
