QUINCY — Quincy University will be the host of the Career Spark STEAM Expo from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, March 19, at the Health and Fitness Center. This interactive event is designed to inspire and educate eighth grade students from area schools about the wide range of career paths available in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM).

The Career Spark STEAM Expo provides students with an opportunity to explore various industries through engaging exhibits and activities. Exhibitors from local businesses, organizations and educational institutions in sectors such as business, finance, education, training, law, government and public service will be on hand.

“Career Spark is about sparking curiosity and helping students connect their classroom learning to real-world opportunities,” Cole Schwartz, director of workforce and community development, said in a press release. “This event encourages students to think about their future and discover the many career possibilities that exist right here in our community.”

The expo aims to bridge the gap between education and employment by demonstrating how STEAM-related fields play a role in life and the workforce. Students can participate in interactive demonstrations, ask questions and gather information to guide their educational and career decisions.

For more information about the expo, including how to participate as an exhibitor, contact Schwartz at schwartzc@gredf.org.
