Chaddock offering youth mental health first aid training Tuesday in Carthage

CARTHAGE, Ill. — Chaddock is offering youth mental health first aid training from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Carthage United Methodist Church.

This training is designed for people working with or supporting youths age 12-18 such as teachers, school staff, coaches, camp counselors, youth group leaders and parents. The course will be conducted by Cassie Ransom, Chaddock’s Developmental Trauma and Attachment Program quality improvement manager, and Erin Flesner, a counselor with Chaddock’s foster and adoption services.

Youth Mental Health First Aid is designed to equip participants with the skills to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in adolescents.

Cost for the workshop is $30. For an additional $49, licensed social workers and counselors can receive continuing education credits. Tickets can be bought through Eventbrite at Eventbrite Link.
