Chaddock to be host of virtual youth mental health first aid training via Zoom on Tuesday

QUINCY — Chaddock will offer a live youth mental health first aid training session via Zoom from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, that will provide participants with skills to recognize, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance abuse challenges in youths ages 12-18.

The training is open to teachers, school staff, coaches, camp counselors, youth group leaders, parents and any adults who work with youths. For just $30, attendees will gain the tools needed to approach young people in crisis, connect them with appropriate resources and better understand the signs and symptoms of mental health challenges.

Featured topics are:

  • How to identify common mental health and substance abuse challenges in youths.
  • How to approach a young person in crisis.
  • Strategies for providing immediate support and connecting youths to professional help.

This live training, facilitated by Chaddock staff, is an opportunity for anyone working with or supporting youths to gain insights into mental health.
