Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce

QUINCY — The Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce is accepting nominations for its Agribusiness of the Year and Larry Fischer Ag Educator of the Year awards until 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 28, with the winners set to be recognized at the ag banquet scheduled for Tuesday, March 12.

Bruce Guthrie, president/CEO of the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce, underlined the significance of these awards in a press release.

“Agriculture is a cornerstone of our community, and it’s imperative to acknowledge those individuals and businesses who play a vital role in its success,” he said. “Nominating an exceptional ag educator and agribusiness not only recognizes their dedication but also sheds light on the pivotal role agriculture plays in our local economy.”

Agribusiness of the Year: Open to businesses of any size within a 50-mile radius of Quincy, this award seeks nominees with strong ties to the agricultural community, a record of community involvement, excellent customer service, and modern business practices. The contest is not limited to chamber members.

Larry Fischer Ag Educator of the Year: This award recognizes educators within a 50-mile radius of Quincy who have strong ties to the ag community. Nominations are open to past or present teachers at the high school and college level, ag literacy educators, and professionals who work with producers. Nominations should highlight the educator’s impact in the classroom and beyond.
