Comirnaty

The Adams County Health Department recommends children over the age of 6 months should receive at least one updated vaccine as part of the recommended vaccination series at least two months after their last dose.

QUINCY — The Adams County Health Department now has Comirnaty, the current COVID-19 vaccine made by Pfizer-BioNTech, for individuals ages 12 years and older.

The public will be notified as soon as the Pfizer-BioNTech 2023-24 COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 6 months to 11 years is received. This updated vaccine should work well against currently circulating variants of COVID-19.

Current COVID-19 Immunization Recommendations from the Adams County Health Department:

Pediatric and Adolescent Guidance: Children over the age of 6 months should receive at least one updated vaccine as part of the recommended vaccination series at least two months after their last dose. If your child has not previously received a COVID-19 vaccine, they should complete this year’s series as soon as possible.

Adult Guidance: Adults should receive at least one updated vaccine as part of the recommended vaccination series at least two months after their last dose. If you have not yet received a COVID-19 vaccine, you should complete this year’s updated series as soon as possible.

Additional guidance for those with compromised immune systems: People with compromised immune systems have the option to receive a second dose of the updated COVID-19 vaccine for increased immune protection.

The immunization clinic is open on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. People wishing to receive a vaccine should bring their insurance cards and photo id.

The Adams County Health Department provides two programs for uninsured and underinsured populations: VFC Program for children through age 18, and Bridge Access Program for adults ages 19 and older.
