Court Appointed Special Advocates swears in three new volunteers in Adams County

QUINCY — Adams County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), a program of Advocacy Network for Children, swore in volunteers Elizabeth Harness and Kennedy Morgan, along with new CASA coordinator Emily Rettenmeier, by Judge John Wooleyhan at the Adams County Courthouse on June 18.
CASA volunteers are trained community volunteers appointed by a judge to speak up for abused or neglected children in the court system. The newly sworn in volunteers received 30 hours of training which included courtroom procedures, working with social service agencies and the special needs of abused and neglected children.
The trained volunteers will represent abused and neglected children in the Adams County court system.
