QUINCY — Adams County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a program of Advocacy Network for Children, swore in its newest volunteers — Emily Hendrickson and Kelley Arnold — at the Adams County Courthouse on Feb. 24.

CASA volunteers are trained community volunteers appointed by a judge to speak up for abused or neglected children in the court system. The newly sworn-in volunteers received 30 hours of training that included courtroom procedures, working with social service agencies and the special needs of abused and neglected children. The trained volunteers will represent abused and neglected children in the Adams County court system.

For more information on becoming a CASA volunteer, call Erica Parrish at 217-223-2272 or visit the agency’s website at www.advonet.org.
