Deadline extended to Monday to enter Arts Quincy’s Dogwood Parade royalty contest

QUINCY — The deadline to enter Arts Quincy’s Dogwood Royalty video contest has been extended by one week.
Parents now have until Monday, April 14, to submit their child’s video and give them a chance to be crowned Little King, Queen Prince or Princess of Dogwood. Arts Quincy, America’s First Arts Council, has once again partnered with Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce to organize this contest as part of the 2025 Dogwood Festivities.
To enter the contest, simply record their child’s response to the question, “What do you think the future of Adams County will look like?” Then upload the short video to artsquincy.org by Monday, April 14, for consideration.
Children ages 7-10 years old and ages 4-6 years old and attend school in Quincy are eligible to participate. Winners will ride with Arts Quincy in the Chamber’s Dogwood Parade on Saturday, May 3, down Maine Street in vehicles provided by Gem City Ford.
“This contest is designed to be simple and stress-free for families.” said Laura Sievert Hesseltine, Arts Quincy’s executive director, in a press release. “What we are looking for is a heartfelt response from your child about their vision for Quincy’s future, no fancy editing or special effects. It’s an easy way to get kids thinking creatively, and we can’t wait to see their ideas come to life.”
Winners will be crowned and receive a sash, an arts-themed prize pack and be gifted a one-year family membership to Arts Quincy.
To be eligible to compete, contestants must attend school in Quincy. Age requirements should be the age as of Saturday, May 3, 2025. Videos should be no longer than 90 seconds and should address the child’s thoughts in relation to the theme in a creative way. Videos will be accepted until 5 pm on Monday, April 14, 2025 at https://www.artsquincy.org/dogwood.
