Dot Foods in Mount Sterling donates $60,000 of products among 16 area food pantries

MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — Dot Foods donated $60,000 worth of food and other necessities to 16 area food pantries on Nov. 14-15 through the company’s Neighbor-to-Neighbor program.

The recipient pantries in the Mount Sterling area were:

  • Southeastern Food Pantry (101 E. First, Bowen)                                         
  • The Salvation Army/Quincy Food Pantry (405 Vermont, Quincy)            
  • Horizons Social Services (224 S. Eighth, Quincy)                                            
  • Open Hands (3340 State, Quincy)                                                                 
  • Community for Christ Assistance Center (113 E. Jefferson, Camp Point)        
  • Cass County Food Pantry (210 S. Main, Virginia)                                             
  • North Greene Area Food Pantry (200 N. Main, White Hall)   
  • Jacksonville Area CFC (311 E. Morgan, Jacksonville)                                        
  • Outreach Community Center (31 S. Main, Winchester)

Each food pantry selected products from a shopping list of Dot’s inventory to address its specific needs. Dot employees assisted pantry staff and volunteers with receiving and unloading the donations at each location.

While Dot’s charitable work covers various causes, food insecurity remains central to the company’s efforts. This year Dot is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its Neighbor-to-Neighbor program. During the past decade, the program has contributed $2.5 million worth of products through 360 donations, benefiting 210 food pantries in 14 U.S. communities. In and around Mount Sterling, Dot has donated $350,000 in donations, with 64 donations to 40 different food pantries from 2014 to 2024.

Dot’s commitment to addressing food insecurity extends beyond the Neighbor-to-Neighbor program. The company consistently supports local food pantries throughout the year, reflecting its dedication to combating food insecurity and supporting those in need.
