MOUNT STERLING, Ill. — Dot Foods, Inc., North America’s largest food industry redistributor, recently announced that Jon Moore, a warehouse employee at the company’s headquarters in Mount Sterling, took home top honors at the 2024 International Foodservice Distributors Association (IFDA) National Championship at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Fla.

Moore took first place in the double pallet jack forklift category just months after winning first place on the pallet jack at Dot’s national championship this summer.

The double pallet jack is not the equipment Moore uses most days in his work in Dot’s frozen warehouse, but his 20 years of experience paid off as he took home the top prize.

“I was excited even to get the opportunity to go compete in the IFDA event,” Moore said in a press release. “I didn’t think there was any way I’d win something, but I knew it would be a great experience. The fact that I won was the icing on the cake. It was an honor to represent Dot among so many other big companies.”

The IFDA National Championship highlights the skills and safety expertise of the nation’s top warehouse and truck-driving professionals. Moore’s outstanding performance in the double pallet jack category earned him top honors, highlighting his expertise and commitment to excellence in foodservice distribution. Dot sent two warehouse employees to the competition.

“This is an incredible achievement for Jon,” said Chris Landrum, Dot’s vice president of warehouse. “Jon exemplifies the hard work, precision and safety culture that defines our warehouse team. We are extremely proud to see him recognized by IFDA.”

Moore won first place in the pallet jack competition this summer at Dot’s annual Forklift Rodeo National Championships at the company’s Mount Sterling headquarters. A resident of Golden, Moore has worked at Dot since 2003 and participated in Dot’s first Forklift Rodeo competition in 2006. Dot’s annual event showcases the skills of Dot warehouse personnel as they navigate challenging obstacle courses, showcasing their expertise in operating equipment such as narrow aisle vehicles, sit-down/stand-up forklifts, order selectors and pallet jacks.

The IFDA competition had 190 professional truck drivers and 79 warehouse associates who showcased their skills, with 71 percent making their competition debut.

Moore brings home a medal and a cash prize as a winner at the IFDA National Championship. As a first-place competitor, he also sports a championship jacket. IFDA leaders presented the awards during a banquet on Oct. 26.
