Faith in Our Future annual campaign raises more than $55,000 to support Catholic education
QUINCY — The Quincy Catholic Elementary Schools (QCES) Foundation recently announced the conclusion of its Faith in Our Future annual campaign, raising more than $55,000.
The campaign supports the foundation’s mission to enhance Catholic education. The foundation’s main focus is tuition assistance. Since the 2012-13 school year, the QCES Foundation has awarded nearly $1.3 million in tuition assistance to more than 2,200 students.
In a press release, QCES Foundation board president Elizabeth Brown said, “We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of individuals and businesses who made this campaign a success. Every donation, no matter the size, plays a vital role in supporting families who need additional support to choose Catholic education.”
The QCES Foundation awarded $130,000 in tuition assistance to Catholic and non-Catholic families for the current school year, the largest amount in the foundation’s history. Students who qualify are awarded an average of $1,200. Though tuition assistance is only awarded to about 11 percent of the student population, all students benefit. Tuition assistance sustains enrollment which keeps classrooms full, providing financial stability for the schools.
“We are proud to be part of a community that values education and faith. This campaign is a testament to the collective effort of so many who believe in the mission of our Catholic schools,” Executive Director Sara Reuschel said.
