Fourth-generation funeral director appointed to State Street Bank board

QUINCY — State Street Bank recently announced the appointment of William “Will” Spear to its board of directors.

Spear is a Quincy native and longtime resident. As a fourth-generation funeral director, he brings experience and commitment to Quincy. He is a graduate of Quincy High School, Illinois Wesleyan University and Worsham College of Mortuary Science. Spear has co-owned Hansen-Spear Funeral Home since 2016, following in the footsteps of his parents, Jeff and Theresa Spear.

Spear has served on the QHS Thanksgiving Tournament committee, the Salvation Army advisory board and Family Store Committee, and the Horizons board.  He is a member of the Gem City Breakfast Kiwanis Club and St. John’s Parish. He serves on the boards of the Advocacy Network for Children and the Blessing Foundation.  Spear plays a role in planning and organizing the annual Hope for Horizons fundraiser.
