2023 GfAG Sponsorship Flyer - 2

QUINCY — The second “Grateful for American Greats” benefit and concert will be Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Corinthian Event Center.

The event will celebrate local heroes and show appreciation for their service with live entertainment, food and guest speakers. The headlining act is No Fences, a tribute band to country music icon Garth Brooks.

The purpose of this event is to raise awareness and fundraise to support efforts that offer information, support and education about mental health for local first responders, military personnel and their families. Every person knows someone who struggles with mental health. These heroes have given themselves to serve their communities and country while needing to cope from experiences they have witnessed through tragic, dangerous, and life-threatening situations.

The event lineup is:

  • 4 p.m.-Doors open
  • 4:30-5:30 p.m.-Opening act: Stonehill from Hannibal, MO
  • 5:30 p.m.-Veterans Day Observance prayer and dinner
  • 5:30 p.m.-National Anthem by Mark Kempker
  • 7 p.m.-Local first responder JD Walker and Richard Elsenpeter with Together Tri-State Veterans are guest speakers
  • 7:30 p.m.-Comedy and auction with Vernon “Longhorn” Davis (local comedian and motivational speaker)
  • 8:30 p.m.-Concert by No Fences

A special semi-truck will be showcased during the event by Gully Transportation. The truck was gifted to JD Walker, a father and Navy veteran, in honor of his son, Jeffrey Walker, who was killed in action in Iraq in 2007. An auction with cornhole game boards, gift cards, baskets and more will be held.

Proceeds support mental health efforts benefiting our local American greats through the JM Legacy Foundation. The inaugural event in 2022 raised donations for Quincy Police Department, Quincy Fire Department, Tri-County Fire Department and Together TriState Veterans.

Tickets are $20 in advance or $40 at the door. Tickets may be bought online at www.outhousetickets.com or at the door the day of the event.

People who would like to donate can mail it to JM Legacy Foundation, c/o Grateful for American Greats, 2226 Jackson, Quincy, Ill., 62301. For more information, to become an event sponsor or to donate, call 217-231-1162.
