Hancock County Fights Cancer invites people to dine out, have fun and help raise funds
CARTHAGE, Ill. — Three fundraising events have been planned by teams supporting Hancock County Fights Cancer. Two local restaurants will donate a portion of their proceeds to HCFC.
Rally Point Bar and Grill in Bowen will donate 10 percent of total purchases from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23 to HCFC. DJ’s Bar and Grill in Warsaw also will donate 10 percent of purchases from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 25. The Wood Inn held an HCFC night earlier this spring.
Fortress Bank and The Wood Inn in Carthage are teaming for a cornhole tournament on Saturday, April 27. Games will be held near The Wood Inn. Check-in is at 10:30 a.m., with games starting at 11 a.m. All proceeds go to HCFC. Cost is $50 per for a two-person team and includes two drink tickets for beer, soda, wine coolers or seltzers. Space and game slots are limited. Call Fortress Bank at 217-357-3112 or 217-847-6675 to reserve a spot.
Tickets continue to be sold for a raffle of two half-a-hog pork bundles. The hog was donated by Randy and Rose Scheetz with processing provided by Farmhouse Meats. The winners will be drawn at the June 1 Hancock County Fights Cancer block party on the square in Carthage.
The Hancock County Fights Cancer block party is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 1 at the Hancock County courthouse lawn in Carthage. Survivors who register by May 4 will receive a free 2024 survivor T-shirt.
