Cancer survivors urged to sign up for Hancock County Fights Cancer event on June 4
HANCOCK COUNTY — The annual Hancock County Fights Cancer block party is planned for 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, June 4, at the Hancock County Courthouse lawn. The celebration will raise money to help the fight against cancer and honor local cancer survivors.
Survivors are urged to sign up now to be part of the celebration. Survivors should check in at the survivors table before 11:30 a.m. on the day of the event. They will be honored in the opening ceremony and will take a short victory lap.
Those who register by May 15 and attend the event will receive a free cancer survivor T-shirt. Registration can be completed online at www.hancockcountyfightscancer.org/registration-info. Forms also are available at branches of Fortress Bank or Marine Trust Bank.
Another way to celebrate cancer survivors, and to honor those who have died due to cancer, is to buy Hearts of Hope from any HCFC team member. Forms are available at the website, Fortress Bank and Marine Trust Bank in Carthage and many other local businesses and offices. Hearts of Hope will line the courthouse sidewalks during the day June 4.
The block party includes food, entertainment, a car show, a high heels race and a time of celebration and hope.
