Memorial Hospital invites teens to ‘Stomp Out Stigma’ on Wednesday afternoon
CARTHAGE, Ill. — “Stomp Out Stigma,” a free event for teens ages 14-18, will be held from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, June 22 on the lawn in front of Memorial Hospital, 1454 North County Road 2050.
The mental health team of Shellie Wear and Tammy Teel from Memorial Medical Clinic in Carthage will lead an engaging event that will feature an obstacle course challenge and treats from Chef Jake. A cooling station that will involve getting wet will be available.
Stomp Out Stigma is an initiative organized by the Association for Behavioral Health and Wellness to reduce the stigma surrounding mental illness and substance use disorders. This campaign challenges people to transform the dialogue on mental health and addiction by turning a whispers or silence into a conversation.
