QUINCY — Young Life Quincy recently announced Jacob Hollensteiner as its new director.

A lifelong member of Quincy, Hollensteiner brings a passion for faith and mentorship and an eagerness to build upon Young Life’s 25-year legacy in the region.

“It is truly an honor and a privilege to join the Quincy Young Life team,” Hollensteiner said in a press release. “Since coming to faith and being baptized in 2019, I have seen God’s clear direction for my life: to lead others to Jesus. Being part of a ministry whose mission is to introduce adolescents to Jesus and help them grow in their faith is a blessing beyond measure.”

Young Life, a ministry founded in 1941, is committed to building relationships with young people and walking alongside them in faith. As the new director, Hollensteiner is focused on strengthening the relationships built by previous leaders while exploring innovative ways to engage and serve the youths of Quincy.

“My mission is to build on the foundation laid by those who have gone before me, while seeking new and creative ways to reach people for Jesus,” Hollensteiner said. “Achieving this vision will require a dedicated and passionate team, which we are fortunate to already have, as well as a strong, supportive community and prayerful guidance from the Lord. As the saying goes, ‘It takes a village.’”

Hollensteiner will be leading an experienced and committed Young Life Quincy team consisting of:

  • Bella Brinkman, Mission Staff — Having served for two and a half years, she supports Young Life’s outreach and ministry efforts.
  • Sheila Gibson, Capernaum Coordinator — With seven years of involvement, including two years on staff, Gibson serves young people with disabilities. She first began volunteering in 2018 before joining staff in 2023.
  • Joevanny Marquez, Next Gen Leader — With three years of service, including two years on staff, Marquez mentors and equips the next generation of Young Life leaders.
